At just 24 years, Zethu Mndawe is making a remarkable impact on Mpumalanga’s beauty scene, building her entrepreneurial journey from the heart of Lekazi, Nelspruit. As the founder of Zethu M Beauty, she has swiftly established a strong reputation since beginning her nail technician career in March 2024. What started as a hobby and a basic nail kit has flourished; thanks to her passion, creativity, and determination; into a thriving business that empowers and beautifies her community.

Zethu’s artistic skill is evident in every set she creates. Known for her blend of contemporary and classic designs, meticulous attention to detail, and warm, approachable manner, she ensures every client feels valued. With prices starting from just R100, her services are accessible to women across Kasi and beyond. Clients consistently praise not only the stunning nails they leave with, whether natural tones, vibrant artwork, or intricate French tips; but also, the confidence and joy Zethu inspires during their visit.

Building Zethu M Beauty has not been without challenges. Early on, Zethu encountered difficulties sourcing supplies, managing client expectations, and overcoming scepticism towards nail artistry as a serious profession. Resourceful and determined, she leveraged social media, showcasing her work on WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook. Her online presence grew quickly, attracting clients eager to experience the renowned “Zethu M” touch.

For Zethu, nail art is more than surface beauty: “It’s therapy. When someone leaves my chair feeling happier, I know I’ve done my job,” she says. 

 

Looking ahead, Zethu aspires to grow her nail studio located in Kanyamazane; a fitting next step for someone whose journey, although still young, embodies passion, hard work, and innovation.
